Data Engineer – Ahlstrom-Munksjö

We are now looking for an experienced

Data Engineer

to join our Data and Analytics Team in Group IT. In this new role, you will spend your time designing, building and developing modern data pipelines and data flows. You will work closely together with your team, Ahlstrom-Munksjö’s external IT vendors and collaborate with business stakeholders. 

Your responsibilities include

  • Developing, building and maintaining our modern data integration platform, data warehouse modelling and providing data-driven support for stakeholders in cloud environment (MS Azure).
  • Writing best practice queries that make data easily accessible and work smoothly while optimizing the performance of the company’s data ecosystem and many analytical and data-driven solutions by monitoring the performance of the overall data delivery.
  • Proactively seeking opportunities how to best utilize available technology to drive business value by working closely together with stakeholders to identify opportunities for business process automation and re-engineering.
  • Actively improving the ETL processes and documentation of the existing code base.
  • Ensuring integration of new data sources to data lake, data warehousing and developing data layers/models enabling analytical reporting utilization.
  • Management of data flows, as well as standardization and documentation of the data.

As an ideal candidate you have

  • Excellent SQL and data warehousing skills including modern modelling techniques and optimization for columnar storage.
  • Hands-on experience from cloud technologies, tools and architecture, preferably Azure.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to see larger pictures from pieces of details.
  • Pro-active mindset with analytical problem-solving skills combined with the ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders across the globe.
  • Relevant university education / diploma (BA, M.Sc) e.g. in information systems, economics / business administration or equivalent.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Good knowledge of MS Power BI.
